The Silver Hen "Cards worthy of framing". Upper Gardner Street Market Greetings Card. Upper Gardener Street In the North Laine of Brighton, has been used as a market place since the 1880's. Victorian traders sold fruit, veg and wares here. The police regularly moved them on as the market was unofficial. In the 1920's Harry Cowley, activist and chimney sweep and known as "The Guvnor", fought for the authorities to make an official Saturday Market.

The Artist - Nikki Brown "The Silver Hen hatched after a fabulous response to my whimsical illustrations I designed (and still do voluntarily) for my local community magazine in Brighton, “The North Laine Runner”. Silver Hen designs are playful, busy and bursting with colour, depicting local scenes and famous landmarks, all focused around Brighton’s diverse community spirit.
I started printing cards towards the end of 2022 and now sell them to local vendors, now beginning to expand Nationally with new designs."
